What's your favourite building and why?

A collection of thoughts, opinions, analysis and rubbish from a confused student in London, England. As well as my day to day happenings, I'll tell you what life's like as a med student in the most happening university in town.

I like the camel-coloured colleges in Oxford, Vicor Horta's works, and the stone carvings of Petra (but have only seen the latter in pictures).
Yeah, I agree - Oxford is magical. There was a time when I was desperate to have the privilege of studying at Oxbridge.
Who is Vicor Horta?
I've been fortunate enough to visit Petra. To see the ancient city you have to pass though 'The Siq', a narrow high-walled cleft that twists and turns for over a kilometre before you get a first glimpse of the Khazneh. It really helps to build up the anticipation and the city itself doesn't disappoint.
I'm with you - loved the chrysler building. was fascinated by the idea that it was based on a car. took far too many photos of it when i was in NY...
Hi AJ
Welcome, and thanks for stopping by. Appreciate your comment.
BTW, as a spin off to the original British series, did you see '21 Up: Born in the USSR' yesterday. Such a fascinating snapshot of life and personal outlook in other countries. I can't remember what my hopes for the future were when I was 7 or 14 years old.
